Why Do I Need 100 Points of ID?
To prevent fraud and ensure that the person completing the safety training is the person receiving the certification, WorkSafe Victoria requires strict identity verification. You must present 100 points of original, physical identification to your trainer at the start of your course.
Primary vs. Secondary Documents
Your 100 points must include at least one Primary Document. Common primary documents (usually worth 70 points) include:
- An Australian Passport (current or expired within the last 2 years).
- An Australian Birth Certificate.
- An Australian Citizenship Certificate.
Secondary documents (usually worth 25-40 points) are used to make up the remaining balance. These include:
- An Australian Driver's Licence (40 points).
- A Medicare Card (25 points).
- A current utility bill showing your address (25 points).
Important Rules
Digital copies, photographs on your phone, or photocopies are strictly prohibited. You must bring the physical documents. If you do not have sufficient ID on the day, the trainer is legally obligated to turn you away without a refund.
