Does a White Card Expire?

2 min read

General Lifespan of a White Card

The good news is that a White Card does not have a set expiration date printed on it. Once you have successfully completed the CPCWHS1001 training and received your card, it remains valid indefinitely—provided you remain active in the construction industry.

The Two-Year Rule

There is one major caveat to the permanent validity of the White Card. Under Safe Work Australia guidelines, if you leave the construction industry and do not carry out any construction work for a consecutive period of two years or more, your White Card will lapse. In this scenario, you are required to retake the course to refresh your safety knowledge before re-entering a worksite.

Lost or Stolen Cards

If your card is lost, stolen, or destroyed, it has not "expired." You simply need to contact the RTO that originally issued the card or WorkSafe Victoria to request a replacement. You will need your original Statement of Attainment to prove you completed the training.
